Stuart Holden admits he's delighted Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle wants to keep him.
Wanderers have confirmed they will pick up an option to keep him for another year.
Coyle announced the deal just 48 hours after he had suffered a knee injury, providing a well-timed pick-me-up for the former Houston Dynamo star.
"I was really pleased that as soon as it happened, the manager came straight out and told me the club were taking the option on keeping me for another year," he said.
"For me, it was a time I was down, and that was a real boost.
"He wanted to keep me around, and that was the initial nudge to make me get back on track."
