Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeness insists they never considered moving Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
Hoeness is happy they went with Pep Guardiola.
The pair will face-off tomorrow in the European Super Cup.
"We have not tried for Mourinho, but Guardiola. We have, I think, yes, made a clear statement with this decision," said Hoeness.
