England coach Roy Hodgson has assured Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger he won't start Jack Wilshere against friendly opponents Sweden.
Hodgson has agreed to ease Wilshere gently back into his first game for his country since injuring his ankle against Switzerland in June 2011.
The Three Lions chief said: "Arsene and I have been friends for many years. I'm aware of his concerns about Wilshere.
"He fully understands my position that Jack is an important player for England and now that he's available, we are going to put him in the squad.
"Arsene trusts me to look after Jack and I've made it clear it won't be a case of him starting in Sweden and playing 90 minutes.
"I always try to have a conversation with the important managers when I'm picking their players to be certain we don't get unnecessary conflict."
