Hodgson sharing West Brom achievements with ex-boss Di Matteo

West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson says that former boss Roberto Di Matteo also needs to be hailed for assuring survival in the top flight for next season.

The Baggies are now eight points clear of the drop zone with three games remaining and with a run of just one loss from their past 10 outings it seems as though their spot in the Premier League is guaranteed.

But Hodgson is refusing to take all the plaudits for turning West Brom's season around following his appointment in February.

"Let's be fair, we've stayed up and I'm delighted and glad that I have played a part but Roberto Di Matteo has also played a part because I have had nine games and he had 25 or 26," the former Fulham and Liverpool gaffer said.

"So any success of the team staying up should be shared between us."
