West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson wants their Premier League status secured as quickly as possible.
Hodgson says by doing so they will get an advantage in the summer transfer market.
He told the WBA website: "In terms of recruitment it can help, absolutely.
"There are certain players we might be interested in who are very happy to come to West Bromwich Albion if we're in the Premier League but wouldn't want to come in the Championship.
"And the same thing goes for transfer fees and salaries.
"In the Premier League we have a different budget to the one we would have in the Championship and that goes for all teams, or it should do, because the money you get in the Premier League is so different.
"That's why it is the sacred cow and everybody talks about getting there, and when you're there clinging on because you don't want to be back down among the also-rans, who are on lesser budgets and have less money to spend, and as a result have lesser players."
