Hodgson says West Brom will make room for ex-Man Utd midfielder Hargreaves

West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson says they'll have to make room if they're to sign released Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves.

Hodgson now admits Albion are still trying to tie up midfielder Hargreaves following his release from Manchester United after knee problems.

He said: "Owen would affect the 25 if he was to come.

"It would be nice to think a player like Owen would choose West Brom and we could give him the chance to resurrect his Premier League career cut cruelly short.

"If he was to join us then of course he would have a proper medical with all the scans.

"But he came to visit with Alex McKechnie the man largely credited with overseeing his revival who believes in his fitness and our expert Mark Gillett agreed.

"I believe he would just as easily pass the rigorous medical as he would the examination he had with us."
