Hodgson praises Premier League clubs for backing English kids

England coach Roy Hodgson has praised Premier League clubs for backing the country's young players.

Hodgson has found a gem and moved to thank Premier League clubs for having the faith in younger players.

"I have been lucky, they are playing regularly for their clubs and they are being quite important people," he said. "Daniel Sturridge was getting excellent reviews for Liverpool and he has brought that to England. Danny Welbeck has been playing regularly, Townsend and Walker have been playing regularly for Spurs, Jack Wilshere has been playing for the Arsenal.

"Long may that continue because I think the club sides know they have very good players on their books in these players and their shares haven't been diminished by the fact that they have played for England."
