England coach Roy Hodgson says Chelsea's Champions League success shouldn't be a surprise.
Hodgson was not surprised to see an English team emerge victorious in Europe's premier club competition.
"I don't think there's any doubts in Europe about England's capacity and how good the Barclays Premier League is and how good English teams are," Hodgson said.
"Chelsea have come last night to Munich, they've played Bayern in their home stadium and there was no doubt really which was the home team last night and they've given a quite fantastic performance, both defensively and also attacked very effectively.
"For once, of course, it's nice to see we in England can win a penalty shootout - that bodes well for the future, I guess."
