Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson says a new stadium must be high on the agenda of any incoming owner.
While Hodgson, whose team travel to Birmingham today after an indifferent start to the season, admits his knowledge of high finance "could be written on a postage stamp", he knows that would be a disaster, with Liverpool needing a bigger stadium to compete with Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea as well as Manchester City.
Hodgson said: "I hope (chairman) Martin Broughton finds an owner who first and foremost backs the club's desire to build a new stadium, which would be tremendous for our long-term future.
"If we want to be up there with other big clubs, we need to have a capacity to rival theirs."
