Cristiano Ronaldo will not consider signing for Manchester City because of his allegiance to their rivals, Manchester United, according to former England boss Roy Hodgson.
Ronaldo has reportedly told Real Madrid he wants to leave the Bernabeu and given City's monetary resources, they are only one of the few clubs able to afford the Portuguese star.
However, Hodgson believes the Sky Blues will not be an option.
"I don't think Manchester City would be an option partly because of his legendary status at Manchester United," he said on beIN Sports.
"He obviously enjoyed his time there, had enormous fondness of the club.
"For him to be regarded as the Manchester traitor, I don't see that one."
