Roy Hodgson hopes to join Inter Milan next month as their 'foreign ambassador'.

Hodgson has resigned from his job as Finland coach and is expected to return to Inter as a club ambassador and help strengthen their relationships with FIFA and UEFA.

"Yes, I could be the 'foreign minister' for the Nerazzurro," he said. "I've had this ambition for some time.

"I could begin as early as January, I look forward to it. Everybody knows I am tied to Inter, where I have many friends."
