Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson says they can handle the frenzied transfer speculation over star striker Fernando Torres.
The takeover by John W Henry and New England Sports Ventures has strengthened Liverpool's position and made them less vulnerable to offers for their best players.
The new owners are also reluctant to sell for fear of a backlash from fans, says the Daily Mail.
Hodgson said: "We want to promise the players that we're going to be up there fighting once again and we are absolutely not looking to sell our better players.
"But, equally, I would also be disappointed if teams like Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and all the teams with money were not looking at our players.
"If I was Fernando Torres, I would expect every top club in Europe to be chasing me. That's good as it means he's doing his job."
