Hodgson hoping to keep Birmingham's Foster at West Brom

West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson insists he wants to keep goalkeeper Ben Foster at the club.

The 28-year old, who is on a season-long loan from Birmingham City, has performed brilliantly for the Baggies so far this term and if Hodgson could have it his way, the former Manchester United gloveman will be at The Hawthorns next term.

"We'd like to keep Ben, for sure," said Hodgson. "He has done very well and everyone is pleased with him and he seems to enjoy life here.

"We enjoy having him here and his form has been excellent. But it's the old story, he doesn't belong to us, he is contracted to Birmingham.

"They will decide his future, not us, unfortunately."
