Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has hinted the club would be happy to avoid European qualification.
"If it doesn't work out for us, it doesn't work out," he said.
"All the time that sensible attitude is prevalent from the public and the press I don't think it's a problem. The game is a bonus.
"But if people say you have to win the UEFA Cup then it becomes different, but I don't think that would happen at Fulham.
"If we did get into the UEFA Cup then the chairman would welcome that, he'd encourage us, but I don't think he'd cry scandal if we got knocked out."
