England coach Roy Hodgson is helping Chelsea attempt to secure Frank Lampard to a new contract.
The Daily Mail says Blues chief Ron Gourlay has been influential in the talks to keep Lampard and is doing is owner Roman Abramovich's bidding while the billionaire is in Malaga.
Lampard was pulled in for talks last week and told that Abramovich wants him to stay for another season.
Roy Hodgson is exerting some pressure, almost guaranteeing him a place on the plane to next summer's World Cup finals if he continues his club career in England.
