Hodgson has made decision that Terry’s England career is definitely over – Chelsea’s Mourinho

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is adamant that John Terry’s international career is over.

The recent club form of the 33-year old centre-back has prompted speculation that perhaps he could be recalled by England boss Roy Hodgson ahead of the World Cup.

Hodgson has already played down suggestions that Terry could resume his international career but Mourinho has backed the Three Lions manager for quickly dousing the flames.

"It's a waste of time to keep speaking about the situation," Mourinho told Sky Sports News.

"Roy Hodgson is the person to kill the discussion or to feed it. End of story.

"I'd never intervene. He's in charge and has everything in his hand. He has made that decision.

"For me as a Chelsea manager I'm happy players play with their national teams – but at the same time I'm happy an important player like him is fully focused on his work at Chelsea."
