Hodgson hands Arsenal's Oxlade-Chamberlain World Cup carrot

England coach Roy Hodgson is eager to take a fully fit Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Brazil.

The Mail on Sunday says Hodgson has been in touch with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to console about Walcott but also to get the message across that 'The Ox' remains very much in his World Cup thoughts.

Oxlade-Chamberlain made a playing return in midweek for Arsenal U21s after recovering from a five-month knee injury.
