England coach Roy Hodgson admits Everton star Leighton Baines is putting pressure on Chelsea fullback Ashley Cole in his selection plans.

Now suddenly the Chelsea ace is battling to prove he is even the best in England.

Hodgson said: "If Ashley is fit he will play on Wednesday and get his 100th cap.

"But there will come a time when both are fit for an important match and I will have to disappoint one of them."

Not that Hodgson is fretting. He is relishing the prospect of two of England's best battling it out to be No 1, well No 3 actually!

He added: "They will just have to fight it out and I'm sure the competition between them will be fierce.

"Then I'll have to make a decision."
