West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson wants a new deal for defender Jonas Olsson.
Hodgson has concerns the Baggies' strict budget won't stretch to cover a contract upgrade for Olsson.
The manager also wants to sign permanently on-loan Birmingham City goalkeeper Ben Foster.
