Hodgson demands top ten finish from his Fulham

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson wants a top ten finish this season.

"We can start thinking about protecting our position in the top ten," Hodgson explained on fulhamfc.com. "It would be a magnificent season for Fulham Football Club to finish in the top ten.

"We've perhaps been guilty of a bit of extra caution sometimes because we wanted to reach the magical total of 40 points. I've never really doubted that we'd do it.

"I've not been talking about fear of relegation because I believe the side I am working with at the moment is more than capable of staying in this league.

"It would be foolish I think when you've got 31, 32 or 33 points to start shouting that we're okay. That can come back to bite you. It's better to stay modest with a low profile.

"With 40 points I think we can be quite confident and what's more we've beaten Arsenal at home, we've drawn with Chelsea, we've beaten United and drawn with Liverpool away. If a team that can do that isn't good enough to stay in the league then I would be very disappointed."
