Hodgson confident keeping West Brom in top-flight

Roy Hodgson is confident of keeping West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League.

Hodgson was appointed Baggies manager on Friday.

A friend told the Sunday Mirror: "Roy is delighted about getting this job because he feels it will give him an immediate opportunity to restore his reputation as a top coach.

"Everybody knows what a difference he made when he took over at Fulham, but on that occasion he was appointed before the January window closed so he had a chance to sign players he knew such as Brede Hangeland.

"This time he felt it wasn't a problem to take over even though the window was shut because the squad is already more than good enough to stay up."
