Hodgson calls for Crystal Palace focus: We can easily fall again

Roy Hodgson has warned his Crystal Palace side not to take their eyes of the ball in their bid to avoid relegation with just 11 games of the Premier League season left.

The Eagles are currently in 15th place but just one point above the drop zone.

He said: "I think that if someone said to me early in February we would be in this position now, I would have laughed in their face and said 'that is going to be some art that'.

"We certainly haven't had anything given to us, and we had any fortune losing as many players as we have, with (Scott) Dann, (Jason) Puncheon, (Bakary) Sako, (Ruben) Loftus-Cheek, and (Jeffrey) Schlupp, that is five players out for a long period of time.

"You add Martin Kelly to that, and Mamadou Sackho, and who is now out again and basically speaking, that is not exactly the good fortune you need when you have a small squad anyway.

"And we are fully aware that we are one of the teams that is going to have fight relegation this year and it is not beyond the realms of possibility that we get dragged back in again".
