Roy Hodgson arrived at Wembley on Monday afternoon for talks with the Football Association over the England manager's job. The West Bromwich Albion boss, who was meeting a four-man panel, is expected to be appointed within 48 hours, reports BBC Sport.
The FA says the 64-year-old is the only person it has approached about succeeding Fabio Capello.
He said he would "be delighted" to manage England, in a BBC Sport interview before the FA's approach.
