England coach Roy Hodgson admits Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck is his current No1.
Welbeck has scored five times in the last four England games.
"Certainly, at the moment he is Plan A," said Hodgson. "I can't give him a carte blanche forever. Other players might emerge. But if you're asking me, at this particular moment in time, am I satisfied with the progress Danny Welbeck has made and am I pleased at the resurgence of form he's had in the last two or three months, not least of all for us, then of course I am.
"He shows other players what can happen when you get a chance. If we're ever going to be any good, we're going to have to have a lot of competition for places and we're going to have to set high standards and make big demands on ourselves."
