New England coach Roy Hodgson is already in talks with Fulham chief Ray Lewington about joining his backroom staff.
The London Evening Standard says the 55-year-old is in charge of Fulham's youth development programme and was Hodgson's assistant manager during his three seasons at Craven Cottage.
It is understood Hodgson has already made contact with Lewington, raising the prospect of them reviving the partnership which saw them take Fulham to the 2010 Europa League Final, where they lost to Atletico Madrid.
