England coach Roy Hodgson reaffirmed his intention to play Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney as a striker.
Hodgson was speaking after United's FA Cup win at Preston.
Hodgson said: "At the moment I'd like to think that Wayne's been a real key figure for us as a centre forward."
"He's scored the bulk of our goals, he's the captain of our team, so it would take a lot before I start to think along those lines.
"Otherwise we'll be giving an awful lot of responsibility to a 19 or 20-year-old to replace a 100-cap man. He is our top goalscorer, in fact two or three goals away from breaking Bobby Charlton's goalscoring record."
