West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson needs new recruits to improve his team but is unsure whether funding is available following a 1-0 home reverse to Everton.
"I'd like to think we have got to the stage where the type of players that would help us would cost money and demand high wages.
"I'm not certain at the moment that is the way we are looking to go forward.
"I'm not interested in bringing bodies or extra names into the club unless I am sure they are better than what we have got."
As to the game itself, he said: "It was a 0-0 sort of game. Both teams defended quite well and I thought nullified each other somewhat.
"But it wasn't a 0-0 game, that's the point. It was a 0-1 game. The 0-1 games - especially when the goals come so late, as it did against Stoke earlier in the season - are the hardest results to accept.
"I'm very disappointed we couldn't continue what has been a very good run in the last three games and continue playing the same level of football.
"Today we've given three very big points to our rivals. They did well enough to deserve a draw but must be feeling very grateful that we gifted them a goal three minutes from time.
"I don't think we created that many chances. I don't think it was as good a performance attacking-wise." "If we are going to have a good season, we need some help. Whether there are players out there who can help is another matter.
