Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has hit out at Championship club Hull City for the way they have handled injured loanee Daniel Ayala.
The 20-year old centre-half joined the Tigers for a three-and-a-half-month spell, which expires in January, but Hodgson wanted him back earlier so he could recover from a hamstring injury and provide cover for Jamie Carragher.
Hodgson feels that Ayala's problem got worse whilst at the KC Stadium and has criticised Hull for their handling of the situation.
"We're very disappointed in Hull City," he told Liverpool's official website.
"I was disappointed to read that he's returned to his parent club through injury, when in fact he has returned because we're not prepared to loan him out to Hull anymore.
"There is a possibility that if we didn't think we needed him we'd loan him out again, but certainly not to Hull City."
