Hodgson a great man manager - ex-Malmo, Arsenal midfielder Schwarz

England boss Roy Hodgson has more strings to his bow than just being very astute tactically according to one of his former players.

Former Arsenal and Sunderland midfielder Stefan Schwarz, who played under Hodgson at Swedish club Malmo in the late 1980s, suggests that the West Bromwich Albion boss is also extremely good at managing his players and making them want to do well for each other which will be a bonus for the Three Lions at the upcoming Euro2012.

"I would say he is probably the best man-manager I have played for and he did a lot to help us all improve our game," Schwarz told Goal.com.

"Roy is very good with his players. He knows exactly the right time to criticise his players but he also knows the right time to praise them as well and that is so important.

"He has a lot of knowledge and his man-management will be a big benefit for England in the European Championships this summer and into the future as well."
