Chelsea legend Glenn Hoddle says the club needs to deal in John Terry.
The Blues captain revealed on Sunday that he would not be renewing his current deal, which runs out at the end of the season, though the club have since insisted that they "will keep the channels of dialogue open".
Hoddle told BT Sport: "He's still performing at his very best. People put him under pressure and were wrong in the criticism he got earlier in the season.
"If it were me and I was manager – and there's no manager there for next year, that's the problem – I'd sign him tomorrow.
"I think he's playing as well as he's ever played. He's an experienced player, a fit lad."
