Glenn Hoddle has turned down the Japan national team post.
Hoddle is available after leaving QPR last week.
The Mail on Sunday says Japan are searching for a new coach after Mexican Javier Aguirre stepped down following their failure to go beyond the quarter- finals at the Asian Cup last month.
Hoddle gave the offer serious consideration, but turned it down due to family reasons.
