Former England coach Glenn Hoddle feels there's more to come from Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney in the Three Lions' midfield.
Hoddle wrote for the Mail on Sunday: "Wayne Rooney has played well in midfield and his technical ability there is a plus for us.
"But what we miss is his goalscoring threat. In a 4-3-3, I would like to see him mixing it up more with Dele Alli. At the moment, it's always Rooney coming deep to join Eric Dier and they're almost playing as a 4-2-3-1 at times.
"I'd like to see them switch, so Rooney can get further forward and be more of a goal threat. Three or four times in each half, I want to see him in the penalty area, as Paul Scholes did.
"That is why I'd play him in a diamond off the front, behind Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy, because then he's in a great position to do that. He's playing well but I still want to see more of him in an attacking role."
