Hoddle has pop at Liverpool boss Rodgers over selection policy

QPR coach Glenn Hoddle has had a pop at Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers over his controversial selection policy.

Hoddle wrote in the Mail on Sunday: "I was mystified by the seven changes Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers made for the team against Real Madrid. You spend all season trying to qualify to play in great matches and then pretty much concede the game before kick-off.

"As a manager he has the right to do what he wants and there may well be things to which we're not privy which influenced his decision. But if he had changed one or two I would have understood it better.

"It was a gamble that failed in one respect, as all seven returned on Saturday and they still lost 2-1 to Chelsea."
