HMRC make move as Rangers fall into further bother

HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has applied to place Scottish giants Rangers into administration, countering the club's notice given to the Court of Session yesterday.

'Gers face a tax bill of around £75million which forced them to submit papers to Parliament House in Edinburgh as they face falling into administration.

But the HMRC have now counteracted that move and a decision will be made whether it is the club or the taxman who gets to appoint a new administrator as owner Craig Whyte's woes deepen.

He met with Rangers players today at the Murray Park training facilities in a bid to show transparency in regards to the crippling financial situation the reigning Scottish champions find themselves in.
