Sanfrecce Hiroshima striker Tadanari Lee will officially join Southampton once he passes a medical and receives a work permit.
The 26-year old Japan international has been linked with the Saints for a few weeks and is now in Southampton ready to train with the club ahead of his move which should be finalised soon.
Lee needs to have a visa application approved before signing a two-and-a-half-year deal but once that is concluded, he is looking forward to helping the St Mary's club achieve success.
"The league is so competitive. I hope I can contribute to the team anyway I can," Lee told the Mainichi Daily.
