QPR defender Clint Hill admits the club's stalwarts are now looking over their shoulders.
Boss Mark Hughes has overhauled his squad by landing six new players, with Ji-Sung Park the latest arrival from Manchester United.
Hill, 33, said: "Every season is a test for me. I've got to prove people wrong and give a good account of myself, which I'm willing to do.
"New players have come in and your place isn't guaranteed.
"But I'm ready for it. I worked hard and was rewarded with a new contract. I've got good experience from last season. Hopefully I can try and achieve half of what I did then."
