Hill accepts this is his last campaign with QPR

QPR have decided against offering experienced defender Clint Hill fresh terms. Former R's manager Neil Warnock was keen to retain Hill's services, but new boss Mark Hughes is looking to take the club in a different direction.

The 33-year-old has been named as part of QPR's 25-man Premier League squad for the remainder of the season, but then he will be let go.

"I think when you get knocked back for a new contract like that you pretty much know where you stand," Hill told West London Sport.

"I'll give my all if I'm called upon and then will hopefully get fixed up at the end of the season."

He added: "I can completely see where he's (Hughes) coming from. A manager in his position will often want to call upon an experienced player if he needs to.

"The manager's spoken to me and has been top class. I just think the club's now heading in a different direction."
