Higuain rejects opening Real Madrid contract offer

Gonzalo Higuain has rejected a new contract offer from Real Madrid. Sport says Real are struggling to find an agreement with Higuain over a new deal.

Higuain, through his representatives, rejected Real's first offer about a month ago. The striker is contracted to 2012 and Real want to extend that to 2015.

The striker is Real's top scorer, but remains the lowest paid of the club's senior players on €1.5 million-a-year.
