Promising American-Mexican teenager Omar Salgado is on trial with English Premier League club Everton.

The 17-year old former CD Guadalajara man, who left the Mexican club to play for the USA's youth teams, has been training with MLS expansion franchise Portland Timbers where he is tipped to end up.

But an opportunity to train with the Toffees came up and Salgado will spend the next few weeks on Merseyside learning from the best in the business before potentially coming back to the USA to be taken in the expansion draft by the Timbers who enter MLS next season.
