Higginbotham: Chelsea formation switch benefits Hazard

Antonio Conte's switch to a 3-4-3 formation has given Eden Hazard a boost of confidence at Chelsea.

That is according to Danny Higginbotham who feels the Belgian playmaker is benefitting from extra freedom in a more attacking role which has been made possible by a more rigid four across midfield.

Chelsea's switch to a 3-4-3 formation is a huge contributory factory in Belgian wing wonder Eden Hazard getting back to his best," he wrote in his column for The Sun.

“Blues boss Antonio Conte has taken the defensive responsibilities off him and the 25-year-old is thriving.

“Now Chelsea have a left-sided centre-back and a wing-back which means Hazard can stay further up the field and is getting his rewards."

Hazard scored his fourth Premier League goal of the season in Chelsea's 4-0 victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
