Guus Hiddink wants Chelsea to trump Manchester United for unsettled Inter Milan star Wesley Sneijder. The Sun says the Blues are confident of securing Hiddink as their boss next week.
And the Dutchman has told them to outbid rivals Manchester United and Manchester City for compatriot Sneijder.
The playmaker, 27 this week, looks certain to quit Inter this summer and is eager to move to England.
United boss Alex Ferguson has been chasing him all year and regards Sneijder as the perfect Old Trafford replacement for Paul Scholes.
But Sneijder's £200,000-a-week wage demands could put him beyond United's reach, leaving Chelsea convinced they would be a more attractive option than City.
