Hiddink: Chelsea fans want to see young players coming through

Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink says it's important for fans to see young local players coming through the club's system.

"I am not against bringing young players in like this in national teams, in Holland, in other countries like this. Even in the Champions League I don't hesitate but they must have a level of tactical and technical skill and you must have the feeling they are very close. If they are very close, I don't hesitate," he told chelseafc.com.

"Although the world has globalised a lot in recent years, I think always the public likes to see some homegrown players.

"That is my personal opinion. It is nice to see that connection to the public. I am not saying other players can't make that contact when I see how people react to big players who are playing a long time in this club who are foreigners. They cherish and love also their performances. But I like to bring young players in."
