Hiddink: Chelsea deserved Man Utd draw

Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink feels his side were good value for at least a point from their clash with Manchester United on Sunday.

The Blues managed an injury-time equaliser through Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge following Jesse Lingard's 61st-minute opener to force a 1-1 draw.

Despite the fact Chelsea chased the result, Hiddink was of the belief that the Londoners performed well enough to at least gain something from the contest.

"I think we deserved a point," Hiddink said.

"I think United started well. We dropped too far back and I thought they dominated us for the first 20 minutes without having big chances or a big threat.

"Later on we closed in a bit more and we got some chances in the first half as well.

"They made a beautiful goal without good marking from our side but it was a beautiful goal. Afterwards the team reacted very well and deserved this point."

The draw sees Chelsea remain 13th on the league table on 30 points while United stayed fifth on 41 points.
