Hiddink buoyed by Chelsea reaction in FA Cup cruise

Guus Hiddink was thrilled with the way Chelsea responded in their eventual 5-1 win over MK Dons in the FA Cup on Sunday.

The Blues progressed to the fifth round of the competition with a comfortable victory at Stadium:mk but it wasn't all smooth sailing for the reigning Premier League champions who had to wrestle with Karl Robinson's Championship outfit early in the contest.

Oscar gave Chelsea a 15th-minute lead with the first goal of his treble before Darren Potter replied for the Dons six minutes later, however, the visitors took over with four goals between the 32nd and 62nd minutes which prompted a positive reaction from Hiddink.

"We are delighted," Hiddink said on BBC One after Eden Hazard and Bertrand Traore added to Oscar's hat-trick.

"Because if you play this game it's always difficult.

"If you play the big games, the big teams, the concentration is always high automatically, but these games you have to be well prepared mentally.

"We played well in the first half but we weren't finishing it off in the first 20 minutes. Then they got the equaliser but we reacted very well."

Chelsea will now take on Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on the weekend of February 20 in the fifth round.
