Fletcher told Hibernian Interactive: "I would like to get into the full international squad, everyone wants to play for their country I think so I'm like everyone else, waiting and hoping for the call from the manager.
Fletcher is aware of reports that Madrid are watching him, but the young Scot is taking the speculation in his stride.
"It's nice to be told that they are watching but it's far, far way from Hibernian to Real Madrid," he said. "It's all a little bit too far-fetched for me, it is I think because I've done well for Scotland's Under-21s and that is perhaps how they have recognised me. But I can't see it happening myself!
"Obviously you tell yourself that you are good enough to go to places like that, if not what would be the point in playing?"
