Hibs boss rubbishes Wigan link for Murphy

Hibs boss John Collins has dismissed talk that left-back David Murphy has been offered to Wigan Athletic.

Wigan's pursuit of Murphy surfaced from reports in England which claimed the player is now represented by agent Willie McKay who had confirmed Steve Bruce was interested in him.

Collins was dismissive of that suggestion, however, claiming: "Who is Murph's agent? It wasn't Willie McKay when I spoke to him (Murphy) yesterday.

"I don't think it will unsettle Murph at all. He is a single-minded individual and has his feet on the ground.

"Speculation will continue over our players but until something firm materialises, there's no point in worrying about it."
