Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen was delighted to see Steven Fletcher hit both goals in yesterday's 2-1 victory over Dundee United. Pressure had been mounting on the 21-year-old following his goal drought during the opening four games of the term but Paatelainen insists he never doubted him.
He said: "It was only a matter of time before Steven scored. I am delighted he got the two goals.
"He works very hard which is important if he wants to go to the top level.
"We always knew somewhere along the line the goals would come. They were very important goals because they won the game for us.
"It was a fantastic win, we needed that, especially going down to 10 men.
"We showed some great spirit, we defended our lead and held on. They are a good quality team and can pose problems to any team.
"At 1-1 at half-time I was gutted, that changed my mood altogether."
