Hibernian to unveil Inverness' Butcher on Tuesday

Hibernian are set to officially announce the appointment of Terry Butcher as their new manager on Tuesday.

The Edinburgh club have lured the former England international from Inverness Caledonian Thistle after almost five years in the Highlands as he comes in to replace Pat Fenlon who was sacked recently.

Butcher is set to arrive with long-time assistant Maurice Malpas who rejected the top role from Caley.

"We are grateful to Inverness Caledonian Thistle for the professional and courteous way in which the discussions between the clubs have been conducted," said Hibs chairman Rod Petrie.

"We now look forward to welcoming the new management team to Easter Road Stadium."

Caley's club statement read: "Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC regret to announce that, despite every effort to persuade them to stay, Terry Butcher and Maurice Malpas have indicated their wish to relinquish their posts as manager and assistant manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

"Compensation has been agreed with Hibernian FC."
