Assistant manager of Hibernian, Donald Park, has revealed that a stomach bug sweeping through the club is making selection for the game against Motherwell at the weekend problematic. Alan O'Brien and David Van Zanten are the latest players to be hit by the bug.
Park said: "We've had a bit of a problem with a bug over the last few days, Alan O'Brien was off towards the end of last week and David van Zanten phoned in sick yesterday.
"Obviously, you've got to be careful because you don't want the other players to come into contact with it.
"It's still early in the week so hopefully we have managed to contain it to just a few players.
"We've got the Motherwell game to think of at the weekend so we're hoping that we've managed to nip it in the bud.
"We've had a few players off as well with injury problems but hopefully both Joe and Steven Thicot will be back today, Steven Fletcher should be able to do some training tomorrow."
