Hibernian's Thomson cops two-match ban

Hibernian's Kevin Thomson has been banned for two matches after losing his appeal against the red card he received in the 1-1 draw with Dundee United last week.

The midfielder was sent off after confronting Gavin Gunning who had followed through with a clearance prompting Hibs to contest the sanction on grounds of wrongful dismissal.

However, s Scottish Football Association disciplinary tribunal threw out the claim and Thomson will now miss the next two fixtures against Kilmarnock and Ross County.
